These terms govern your use of the Konform app for Shopify, operated by Rel8 CX Ltd. By installing the app you agree to them.

1. What Konform does

Konform publishes the European Commission's official harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity into your Shopify account, and displays it on your storefront in the language of the market being addressed. It optionally displays the EU GARAN durability label on products you identify as carrying a qualifying producer guarantee.

Konform does not alter the artefacts. It publishes the Commission's files unmodified and displays them as published.

2. Eligibility and your account

You need an active Shopify store and the authority to install apps on it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your staff do with the app.

3. Plans and payment

The harmonised notice is free on unlimited products, in all 24 official EU languages, placed wherever you choose on your storefront. This is permanent and is not a trial. We do not charge for meeting a legal requirement.

Paid plans add optional things that are not required by law: removing Konform branding, changing the wording and styling of the notice link, showing the notice only to shoppers in the EU, the GARAN durability label, and a record of what was displayed and when. Prices are shown in the app and billed by Shopify through your Shopify invoice.

Paid plans include a 14 day free trial. Charges are monthly, in advance, and are not refundable for a partial month.

4. Cancelling

Cancel a paid plan at any time from within the app or by uninstalling. You keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, then return to the free plan. The notice keeps working on the free plan.

5. What we ask of you

Do not attempt to modify, recolour, crop, overlay or otherwise alter the official artefacts that Konform publishes. Their design is prescribed by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 and altering them may itself breach it.

Only enable the EU GARAN label on products where the producer genuinely offers a free durability guarantee covering the entire product for more than two years. The app asks you to confirm each of those conditions. Displaying the label without a qualifying guarantee is a false commercial claim, and it is yours, not ours.

6. Compliance is yours, not ours

This is the most important section in these terms, so it is written plainly.

Konform is a tool that displays official artefacts. It is not legal advice, and Rel8 CX Ltd is not your lawyer. We do not warrant that using Konform makes your business compliant with Regulation (EU) 2025/1960, Directive (EU) 2024/825, or any national implementation of them.

Compliance depends on facts we cannot see: what you sell, where you sell it, how your theme renders, what else appears on your storefront, and how a national authority interprets the requirement to display the notice in a prominent manner. You remain responsible for confirming that your storefront meets your obligations, and for taking your own legal advice if you are unsure.

The app includes a check that looks at your storefront and reports whether it can see the notice. That check is a convenience and its result is not a determination of compliance.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Konform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Once the notice is live on your storefront it is served by Shopify from your own account, so it continues to display even when our application is unavailable.

8. Intellectual property

The harmonised notice and the EU GARAN label are published by the European Commission. We claim no rights in them and neither do you. Konform's own software, interface and documentation remain the property of Rel8 CX Ltd.

The files Konform publishes into your Shopify account are yours to keep. They remain if you uninstall.

9. Data protection

Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary, Konform stores only the connection to your store and holds no permission over orders or customers.

10. Warranties and liability

Konform is provided as is. To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you in any 12 month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in that period. Where you use the app on the free plan, that amount is zero.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if the app is used unlawfully, if payment fails, or if continued use would put other merchants at risk. We will tell you why where we lawfully can.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use afterwards means you accept them.

13. General

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Nothing here affects statutory rights you have as a consumer, if you are one.
