Setup is three steps and takes about a minute. Publish the notice, switch it on in your theme, then let the app check your storefront and confirm it is live.
Getting set up
1. Publish the notice. This copies the European Commission's official files into your own Shopify Files, in every language your storefront publishes. Nothing is altered. If you later add a language, press Publish again.
2. Switch it on in your theme. Shopify requires you to enable app embeds yourself, so the app opens your theme editor with the notice already selected. Toggle it on and save. If you would rather place it somewhere specific, such as next to your privacy policy in the footer, add the app block to that section instead. Both are free.
3. Confirm it is live. The app looks at your storefront the way a shopper would and tells you what it sees. If the notice is not there it tells you why rather than just failing.
Common questions
I cannot see the notice on my storefront.
Almost always the app embed has not been switched on in the theme, which is step 2 above.
To check quickly, open your storefront, view the page source and search for
konform-notice. If you find nothing, the embed is off. If you find a line
ending url=no map=no, the embed is on but the notice has not been published
yet, so press Publish in the app.
The check says my storefront is password protected.
Development stores are always password protected and the setting cannot be turned off. The check cannot see past it, which does not mean anything is wrong. Open your storefront, enter the store password once, and look for the notice yourself.
Which languages do I get?
Every language your storefront publishes, plus English. The notice exists in all 24 official EU languages and Konform picks the one matching the market a shopper is buying from, not their browser setting. If a shopper reaches you from outside those languages they get the English version rather than nothing.
Do I need the GARAN label?
Probably not. The GARAN label applies only where the producer offers a free durability guarantee covering the entire product for more than two years. If you resell other brands and do not have that in writing from the producer, you should not display it. Showing it without a qualifying guarantee is a false commercial claim. The notice, which is the part the law requires of you, is separate and applies regardless.
Does the notice go on every product page?
No, and it should not. The harmonised notice is displayed once for the whole shop as a general reminder. The GARAN label is the one that attaches to individual products.
Will this slow my storefront down?
The notice itself is a small link. The full artefact is only fetched when a shopper opens it, and it is served from Shopify's content network rather than from us, so it does not touch our servers at all.
Does installing Konform make me compliant?
It displays the official artefact correctly, which is the part software can do. Whether your business is compliant depends on things we cannot see, and we are not your lawyers. See section 6 of the Terms of Service.
What happens if I uninstall?
The notice stops displaying and we delete our record of your store. The official files stay in your Shopify Files because they are yours. If you reinstall, they are reused rather than uploaded again.

Write to support@rel8.cx and you reach the people who
build the app. Include your .myshopify.com domain and, if the notice is not
appearing, the konform-notice line from your page source. That line usually
